King Street Cork City

I'm looking for King Street. Can anyone give me directions? I'm descended from Annie Moore, the first person to pass through Ellis Island, and she's said to have lived on King Street in Cork City.
Thanks! Jane

Hi there,

King Street is now called MacCurtain Street after the assassionation of the Cork Lord Mayor Thomas MacCurtain in 1920. Which might explain why you couldnt find it.

Hope that helped!!

Annie Moore is known to have lived at LLoyd's Lane on the northside of Cork city near the world famous Shandon Steeple. It is a few steps from the Maldron Hotel on John Redmond Street which is roughly five walking minutes from the former King Street, now Mac Curtain Street. Cheers.
