Kilkenny was the last stop of our 10 day tour of South/West Ireland in the summer of 2000. Tired and ready for bed, we were heading back to our digs about 10.00pm when we could here the mesmerising lilt of a music session eminating from one of the city centre pubs. Poking my head around the door, it looked as if the whole room was bouncing up and down to the beat of the bodhran, and feet were flicking in and out, tapping up and down to the tune of the fiddles. We found out that the majority of the palyers, singers and dancers were nearly all from one local family, with the bodhran palyer looking a bit like "Grizzly Adams". As the Mastercard advert says, that evening was priceless! Does anyone know which pub this may have been and who the family was? We would love to re-visit. Thankyou.
