The best way to get to Dublin from Wexford

Hi there, we are planning to stay in Wexford for a week in August and would like to visit Dublin as a day trip, understand parking in the city could be a nightmare, please suggest the best way to visit Dublin. Can we drive to a town nearer to Dublin and get the bus or train into the city? If so please suggest nearby town with good transport link. Many thanks!

I'd suggest driving to a "park + ride" for the "luas" (trams) and getting a tram into Dublin City. Maybe head to Sandyford Park + Ride, on the outskirts of south Dublin, park, and get the Green Line tram all the way in to St Stephen's Green?
