I'm from the US and am going to Ireland soon. Will my US drivers licence be accepted at pubs for proof of age or will I need to use my passport?

More than likely, it will be accepted at most places, but it would probably be at the discretion of the management. Probably not as strict in Ireland as in USA in pubs. You might only be asked for ID if you LOOK younger or border-line age limit. Hope that helps.
