Hi Ged, its Matthew Russell here, grandson of Monica Cole. We have been talking about your g grandfather. I found someone on the Ellis Island records, but according to their records this person was born in 1857 so I am not sure if its the same person. Good luck with your search. The internet is a small place!

Sean Mannion at 04:52:03 on 22 Aug 2008

My family all comes from Clifden. My great great grandfather was Patrick who died in 1910 married to Mary (d. 1926). Great grandfather was Thomas who died in 1912, married to Ellen McGrath (d. 1958). My Grandfather Patrick was born in 1900 and emigrated to America in 1921.
I am looking for information on my family that goes back further than GGGF Patrick who I'm assuming was born in the late-mid 1800's.
Thanks.
Sean

I am just starting out tracing my paternal family tree and would be grateful of any assistance you can offer.
My grandfather was Michael Festus Mannion, Born 17th October 1924, lived in Ballyconneeley until moving to England around 1940 - 1948 where he married my grandma Kathleen Mannion in 1948. His siblings, that i know of, Jim/James, Nancy, Peggy, Mary (moved to America and died there earlier this year)
Other than this i'm at a blank at the moment as my grandfather died in 1993 so thanks for your help. Feel free to email me with any info.

My Dad was born in Loggawania, small village outside of Headford, County Galway on September 3, 1898, died on December 22, 1968. His Dad's name was Michael Mathias Mannion. His Mom's name was Mary (Conlisk) Mannion from Headford county Galway. Believe his Dad's first wife died, possibly in child birth.
My Dad left Galway in 1925 and went to his brother Thomas Mannion in Philadelphia, PA. Thomas died in 1956, believe he was ~63.
My Dad married Gertrude Mary Healy Manning in 1932 in Montgomery county, PA. My Mom died in 2004. They had 2 daughters both dead, and a son who's still living as of this message. Believe we may have some Mannion's in the US but, have no idea. Most of our relatives are in Ireland and we keep in touch and visit regularly. Slainte!
