Promote Your B&B/Hotel/House:
Id like to let you know about the upcoming Mevagh Macra Feile Carraig ARTS & Culture festival running from Aug 25-28th 2011. The event is being used to promote the wealth of local arts and crafts in the Mevagh area. As a local business we would like to invite you to a meeting on Friday 21st January 2011 @ 7pm in the Carrigart Hotel.
The festival will officially open on Thursday 25th August and run daytime workshops and nighttime music all weekend with a carnival finale on Sunday 28th august 2011.
We have a facebook page set up for the event, so if you have any prices or special offers for B+B or the pool/leisure facilities please email me back with the info so I can post it on our page.
The Mevagh Macra Feile Carraig ARTS & Culture festival is being held as Mevagh’s event for Macra’s National get to Know Your Neighbour campaign. In 2010 Mevagh Macra held a much enjoyed Oiche Airneal which brought together young and ‘not-so young’ musicians and dancers from the Mevagh area for a night of craic and laughter. Following on from that success Mevagh Macra decided to host an even bigger event for 2011 and along with a festival committee made up of representatives from local community groups will be hosting a 3 day arts and culture festival on the weekend of August 26th 2011.
The weekend will be drawing upon the talents of all the local artists, with workshops on the history of the area, photography, painting, music, poetry, carnivals and much more. This is Mevagh Macra’s endeavour to promote the Arts and Culture abilities of local people in the Carrigart and surrounding areas. There is a wealth of artistic and creative talent in the area, that Mevagh Macra believes can be promoted as an attraction to encourage tourism into the village. It is anticipated that the event will be used by locals to showcase their skills, talents and interests.
