Derry - Care Hire & Int Travellers

I am an Australian passport holder visiting daughter in Glasgow & then on to Donegal to see distant relations:
(1) Can I fly direct from Glasgow to Derry OR do I need to enter Ireland through an International airport?
(2) If I rent a car on NI side (eg airport) do I pay a surcharge for the Republic?
Cheers
Neil

Sorry that was a silly qustion. Of course I don't need an international airport - as I only enter Ireland, after I land in NI.
