I have been to the Dublin airport many times and find the best and simplest way to travel from there is to take a bus to the Dublin bus station. The buses have stops right at the exit of the airport, #41, 41B, 41C run all day about every 20 minutes or so, they take you right down town only a couple blocks from the main bus station where a bus can be boarded for Cork. If you are not familiar enough to walk the couple of blocks you can also catch an Airlink Shuttle also at the airport exit which will take you non-stop to the Dublin bus station. good luck

There aren't any direct buses between Dublin Airport and Cork. You have several alternatives:-

As Doug pointed out above, you can get the 41/B/C to Abbey Street (last stop) which'll leave you about 5-10 mins walk from Busaras (Central Bus Station) from where you can get a bus to Cork. You can also get the Airlink (route 747) bus direct to Busaras, this is a little more expensive than the regular bus, but more direct.

You can also get an Aircoach from Dublin Airport to Westmoreland St (Dublin City Centre) and then transfer to another Aircoach-operated service from Westmoreland St to Cork.

If you'd rather take the train, you can get the Airlink (route 748) to Heuston Station, and then a train to Cork.

Thank you for this information, I've been in Dublin last week and, I saw that the bus number 747 is 6€ to Busáras! and the 41 is only 1,80€ !!!

important : I forgot to keep some change to pay on buses, (bills not allowed) oops...

Anyone know of a 24 hr transport route from Dublin to Cork? I am getting into Dublin airport at 23:15 on 15/09 and ideally need to get to Cork that same night!

Hi Audrey,

There are no 24-hour services to Cork. The last ones would have gone by the time you arrive in Dublin, and the first bus the following morning is the Aircoach at 6am or the Bus Eireann bus at 8am.

I would suggest flying. Ryanair and Aer Arann operate on the route and it is far cheaper than the train and the same price as the bus. The flight is only 30 mins and sometimes the bus can take anything up to 6 hours to get to Cork (plus the one hour to get from Dublin Airport to the city centre). Flying is the only way to go.
