Clare is located in the famous Shannon region in the southwest of Ireland. Home to Shannon Airport, Ireland's second international airport, it is an important gateway to the country, and, as such, has good transport links, in the form of rail services to Limerick and on to the rest of the country. Bus services also exist to Cork, Limerick and Galway and onward.
Bus Éireann provide services to County Clare from Dublin, Galway, Waterford and Limerick. Limerick City, which is 23 miles from Ennis, is the Shannon Region's major hub for bus connections.
