This trip is our little gem. For travelers who only have a couple of days we promise to excite, explore and indulge your adventurous side. Prepare to be awestruck by the Cliffs of Moher, discover Connemara – Ireland’s Gaelic speaking area and sail to the Aran Islands. Soak up the atmosphere in bustling bohemian Galway City and challenge yourself by scaling Croagh Patrick in Westport. Take in the breath-taking scenery over your four days and make new friends along the way.
Day One - Cliffs of Moher/Lahinch – Wednesday
Meet with your guide of your escorted tour of Ireland in Limerick City and make a short journey to county Clare, home to the spectacular Cliffs of Moher and the Burren National Park. Spend the evening in Lahinch, the hometown of Irish surfing. Weather and waves permitting we will take a plunge in the Atlantic ocean with Ben’s Surf Clinic.
Day Two - Galway – Thursday
Visit the 16th Century castle, Dunghuaire Castle at the quaint fishing village of Kinvara - The gateway to Ireland's Culture Capital of Galway. Galway is renowned for its pleasures. Brightly painted pubs heave with live music, while cafes offer front-row seats for observing street performers, musicians, and local characters. After a cycling tour through the streets and waterways discovering Galway’s hidden gems you are free to enjoy an evening of entertainment, great food, and craic in this much celebrated city.
Day Three - Aran Islands/Westport – Friday
After a short drive to Rossaveal pier, we will sail across Galway Bay to the Aran Islands. Arrive on rugged Inishmore, the largest of the Aran Islands. Explore the island, meet the locals and pick up a few words in “Gaelic”. Cycle to the stone fort Dún Aenghus, which lies 100m over the ocean before making our way back to the mainland. Depart Rosaveal Pier for the stunning town of Westport. Take in the breathtaking views of Connemara National Park and the Lost Valley which is part of the famous famine trail on route to Westport. Unwind with some local craft beers and excellent food in Westport Town. Experience “the craic” at a traditional Irish music session in Matt Molloy’s bar.
Day Four - Westport – Saturday
Before you finish your Overland escorted tour of Ireland we want to challenge you one last time. Climb the west’s most iconic mountain, Croagh Patrick, and learn about the man responsible for St. Patrick’s Day. This is the ultimate way to finish off an unforgettable journey through Ireland.
