Seat of the Barry Family from the 12th to the 17th Century, this castle is a fine example of a 15th Century tower house with 16th Century alterations and additions. The bawn wall with three corner towers is largely intact. The ground floor now houses an exhibition on the History of the Barry's and Barrycourt Castle. The average length of a visit is one hour. Facilities include an exhibition, toilets, a public car park, restaurant and teashop. Access to the castle is by guided tour only.
