About Michael Davitt Museum

The Michael Davitt Museum is dedicated to the life & legacy of one of Ireland`s greatest patriots - father of the Land League, Humanitarian, Author, Social reformer, and patron of the GAA & Glasgow Celtic FC. The museum is housed within the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland award winning restored church, in which Davitt himself was baptized in 1846, and exhibits a wide range of unique historical artefacts relating to Davitt and the Land League.

The museum adjoins the historic 13th C Straide Abbey which contains some of the finest medieval carvings in Ireland, and the site is surrounded by ornate landscaped grounds, perfect for a leisurely stroll in historic "Davitt Country"

The museum is open 7 days per week 10am - 4.30pm (Sun 2-5pm)
