About Doolin Cave

Doolin Cave – The Great Stalactite

“Stunning, magnificent and once in a lifetime” have been used to describe the wonder of the Great Stalactite. Descending underground through a world carved by water you feel a sense Mother Nature guiding you through the crisp air in the cave passages. As you approach the main chamber, for a moment, you are plunged into a world of primitive darkness. When the flicks back on you cannot believe that this great stalactite, suspended like a chandelier from the cave ceiling, has formed from a single drop of water over thousands of years.

Take the adventure from underground to over ground on a charming farmland nature trail that takes a looped walk around the cave setting taking in indigenous species of flora and rare and miniature breeds of animals.
