Go Back
One of the most picturesque Christian monuments in Ireland, with a charming setting beside the banks of the River Suir and 12kms from the Rock of Cashel. The monastery took its name from a portion of the true cross believed to have been presented by the people to the grandson of Brian Boru, in 1110. This relic is now enshrined in the Abbey. The abbey was completely restored in 1976 and features an audio visual centre and shop.
