Mountmellick Museum showcases Mountmellick Work, a unique form of white on white embroidery that was developed in the 1800’s to enable local women to support themselves. The craft has been revived and is now known worldwide. The Museum also tells the story of Mountmellick’s rich Quaker and industrial history. Today Mountmellick’s fine buildings and historical sites are identified on its Heritage Trail which is signposted throughout the town.
