About Rowallane Garden

A real plantsman's garden. Rowallane is renowned for its peaceful intimate character and was established in the 1860’s by the Rev. John Moore, then carried on by his plant-collecting nephew in the early 1900’s. Rowallane’s 21 hectares of natural garden co ntains plants from many parts of the world: daffodils, rhododendrons and azaleas in spring and summer flowering trees and shrubs continue the floral display. The walled garden, which houses the national collection of Penstemon, herbaceous plants, fuchsias and shrub roses flowers until autumn frost; the rock garden with primula, meconopsis, heathers and dwarf shrubs is of interest throughout the year. A National Trust property.
