Dame Evelyn Glennie takes to the stage with the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland. Opening the concert in flamboyant fashion, 5 of Ireland’s finest young percussionists will perform Marimba Spiritual alongside their hero.

Scottish-born Evelyn is the first person in musical history to successfully create and sustain a career as a solo percussionist, an accomplishment made all the more amazing by the fact that she is profoundly deaf.

The concert will also include performances of Schwantner’s Percussion Concerto & Bruckner Symphony No 4 under the baton of Maestro Diego Masson.
