The orchestra plays memorable and exciting music of flight from classic movies The Dam Busters, 633 Squadron and E.T., while acclaimed soprano Cara O'Sullivan herself takes flight in numbers including Moon River - conjuring up Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's, O Sole Mio - its famous melody forever shorthand for Italy and used by everyone from Elvis to Cornetto advertisers, and the electrifying Beat Out Dat Rhythm on a Drum from Carmen Jones.

There is music in this lunchtime programme that will be familiar to many who consider themselves no experts in classical music. You might recognise the haunting Gabriel's Oboe from the soundtrack to The Mission or as the theme to an Aer Lingus ad or as the melody for the song Nella Fantasia - however you came across it, hear RTÉ NSO Principal Oboist Adrian Wilson play it live. Other familiar favourites on the menu include Dance of the Hours, to which the hippos do their ballet in Disney's smash hit Fantasia, and the deeply romantic Intermezzo from Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana, also famous as the theme to Raging Bull.

Deirdre Moynihan sings the heartfelt 'I Know that My Redeemer Liveth' and the ornamental 'Rejoice Greatly'.
