THE HOT SPROCKETS, LA PALS, BEAT THE RADAR Akoustik Anarkhy Presents: The Hot Sprockets Akoustik Anarkhy (aA) is a party night & record label from Manchester. Started 30th October 1999 for the simple virtues of having a laugh & playing whatever music you wanted to at generally maximum volume. Over the last 9 years aA has hosted parties in all sorts of back street grotto's & nightspots from Manchester to London, Brighton and Paris helping to launch some of Manchester's finest acts along the way. In late 2007 aA launched Akoustik Anarkhy Dublin, with the idea of a shared stage for Manchester and Dublin acts alike. aA Dublin has now become an integral a fixture in the live aA calendar, extending the community spirit of the label to Ireland, creating a link between likeminded Irish and UK acts and giving them the opportunity to play in each other's cities. On December 6th Akoustik Anarkhy returns to party in Dublin with another mix of Irish and UK talent. The Hot Sprockets - hail from the suburbs of South Dublin, They are five friends who came together with a shared love of Rock N'Roll music The kind of Rock N' Roll music that is haunted by the ghost of country and blues Take the good-time revolutionary spirit of MC5, simmer it down to the sounds of Crosby Stills Nash and Young, add some rough-edged 40s delta blues and you have in your hands the perfect recipe for a beautiful sonic nugget that we like to call 'The Hot Sprockets' - http://www.myspace.com/thehotsprockets LA Pals - They take their pop cues from the melodies of the Everly Brothers & live dynamics from Dylan & the hawks circa '66. In late 2007 LA Pals released their now sold out debut single 'La pals / Hail Mary' on Manchesters seminal Akoustik Anarkhy label 'the euphoric sound of childhood holidays & lost afternoons in the garden' - (Clash Magazine) The duo are now working on tracks for their debut album with producer Raymond Ray in Manchester - http://www.myspace.com/lapals Beat The Radar - Akoustik Anarkhy's latest label acquisition began rehearsing in an abandoned textile Mill in Ancoats. A love for local heroes The Smiths, The Stone Roses and Joy Division and equally the American counterparts Sonic Youth and Mission of Burma set the musical trajectory for atmospheric, trans Atlantic, innovative, post punk. 'Crammed with big guitar gestures brilliant instrumentation...a band who are definitely going to develop into something far bigger' (Manchester Music) - http://www.myspace.com/beattheradar http://www.akoustikanarkhy.co.uk THE HOT SPROCKETS, LA PALS, BEAT THE RADARSat 06 Dec 2008 Akoustik Anarkhy Presents: The Hot Sprockets Akoustik Anarkhy (aA) is a party night & record label from Manchester.
