Every August this town holds its annual flower festival and steam rally held by the Irish Steam Preservation Society.
The town is largely 18th century, developed by the Cosby family. It also contains St. Colmans monastery thought to be the place where the 'Book of Leinster', now preserved in Trinity College, was made.
