Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan

This busy market town is the home of the highly-sought after Carrickmacross lace. The St.Louis nuns revived the craft in the 19th century and today skilled crafts people at the Carrickmacross Co-op continue the tradition. Harry Clarke, one of the Irelands foremost stained glass artists in the early 1900's, designed the windows which enhance St. Joseph's Church in Carrickmacross.
