Sailing to Ireland

There are six main passenger ferry ports on the island of Ireland:

• Dublin Port and Dun Laoghaire in Dublin;
• Rosslare Europort in Co Wexford, in the south-east of the island;
• the Port of Cork, in Co Cork; and
• Belfast and Larne, Co Antrim.

Each of these ports has scheduled services to Britain and France.

Rail Services in Ireland

All rail services on the island of Ireland are operated by:

• Iarnród Éireann (Irish Rail) in the Republic, and
• Northern Ireland Railways (NIR) in the North

Bus Services in Ireland

Bus services throughout Ireland are operated by many companies. The most extensive services are provided by the state bus firms:

• Bus Éireann in the Republic, and
• Ulsterbus in the North

However, many private firms operate services between major cities also.
