Hook Head, Co Wexford

The lighthouse at Hook Head was a Norman creation, built over 600 years before the stone lighthouses of the 18th century, it was built in 1172 but according to legend an earlier lighthouse once stood in it's place, founded by a Welsh monk Dubhand (Hook).
