Mahmoud Kharroubi (Marco) was born in Tunisia into a culinary family in 1974. They owned the La Boeme restaurant in Tunis, Tunisia. After a few years they went to live on the Kerkennah islands. Later they started a new venture, the Aziz an 80 bedroom hotel and by this time Marco was running the hotel.
At the age of 21 Marco decided to branch out on his own and moved to the UK. From there he moved to the USA where he spent 10 years working in New Jersey & Philadelphia for the the Duva family. Then he met his Irish best half Anne Marie in an Irish pub, the Plough & the Stars in Philly. She convinced him to move to Dublin closer to her & his family. Now 2 years later when he couldn’t get a job for lack of experience, he decided to start his own pizzicato to demonstrate his love of cooking & the multitude of experience he has gained. Marco’s cooking combines Italian cuisine with a hint of America.
