or the non-fisherman among us, the name for the restaurant “The Sooty Olive” derives from the famous Irish lough fly that has been used for generations to catch wild Trout.
It was conceived by one of the owner’s own experience of catching his largest wild Trout in Donegal on the Sooty Olive fly.
This restaurant is nestled in the heart of Spencer Road in the Waterside area of the city, with an atmosphere that is both intimate and buzzing.
We take great pride in our food, which is all locally sourced and cooked by our Head chef/Owner Mr. Sean Harrigan, who is a passionate newcomer to the restaurant industry.
