Limerick City Visitor Guide

Limerick City began as a Viking colony on an island in the River Shannon and it is now one of the major cities of Ireland. A city of fine, wide regular streets, it has excellent shops and stores. In recent times it has benefitted very much from its proximity to Shannon Airport and from its new found role as capital of the Mid-West Region. It is a city very much of a historical and literary focus and has a great sporting tradition.
