My fiance and I are planning our honeymoon in Ireland, late May-early June 2005. We’d like to “wing it” by driving up the west coast and staying in B&Bs. Is it risky to assume we could find accomodation as we go along? Should we book in cities we plan to go through? We’re planning to hit Galway, Sligo and Donegal for sure.
Part of the fun of B&B in Ireland is to find somewhere you fancy enroute. You can always ask to look at the room first before you part with any cash. If you don’t like the look – say no thanks. I always look for places with duvet covers I don’t fancy sleeping with second hand blankets. If you are arriving in Dublin, it would be advisable to book something for the first night If you want something nice for the first night of the honeymoon tell them in advance. It will be expensive but the rest of the nights will be reasonably priced. Don’t forget to fill up on the Irish Breakfasts and forget about any dieting.
