Hello everyone!
I won atrip to Ireland in 1998 and stayed in Dublin. Be sure to visit Grafton Street. The musicians were very good. I was also very impressed by Christ Church Cathedral. You may give a donation of your choosing. There was a beautiful altar there and catacombs. The church has been there since the time of the Vikings. The train station on O’ Connell Street had very good food, delicious coffee with whipped cream, and a dandy book store called Eason’s that sells Irish Magazines. My favorite was called ” Ireland’s Own.” It was very interesting and had some good articles on American actors. The Irish Tourist Board sold souveniers and tapes which were reasonably priced and the cashiers were very friendly. I took a train ride to Nenagh which was a nice way to see the beautiful scenery. Don’t miss O’Shea’s Pub on the Merchant Quay near the River Liffy For authentic Irish music and good food. There was a bartender or waiter named Martin who was very nice to us. While in the O’Connell Street train station, the entire tavern sang “Danny Boy” . It was really nice to hear it sung so nicely by the real Irish people. The ladies in the National Bank and the Post Office in Dublin were also all very kind to me. To the taxi drivers who charged reasonably, I gave them a bigger tip. The taxi drivers were all very friendly. Be sure to visit Dublin. You will enjoy it.
