The centre is located in the edge of Birr Town, on the Birr/Roscrea road. Just 10 minutes drive from the centre the Slieve Bloom Mountains provide a rich field of study for the historian, antiquarian, archaeologist, geologist and botanist. The Slieve Bloom Mountain Environment Park is the base for a variety of outdoor education activities including: rock climbing, orienteering, field studies, hill walking and camping. Action packed programmes for young adventurers. Residential and non-residential summer camps during July and August. Accommodation for 40 people with supporting facilities.
