A Farm Visit With Music & Picnic
At the beginning of our farm adventure, everyone will make delicious Irish soda bread, using our family recipe. Next, we will make our way through the farmyard to the 200-year-old stone “session shed” for a traditional music workshop. Visitors learn to play the Irish drum (the bodhrán) to the age-old rhythms. We will also learn one of Ireland’s favourite céilí dances- guaranteed to get everyone smiling! All the animals love visitors-sheep, hens, geese, pigs, ponies, goats, donkeys, cattle and of course, the sheepdogs who will happily show off how they work. Everyone can take a helmet and a “hurley stick” and try one of our national sports- hurling. Fresh air is a great flavour and the soda bread will be the star of lunch with a host of other treats alongside it. The picnic basket is piled high with cheeses, salads, meats and chutneys from our farm kitchen. We guarantee that our visitors will leave us full of wholesome home-cooked food, some new skills and a host of wonderful memories.
