Thing to Do Category: Parks and Gardens
It was on the Hill of Slane that St. Patrick light his Pascal fire at Easter in 433 A.D. It is here that one can see the remains of the 16th century church on the site of the ancient church founded by St. Patrick. The hill dominates the landscape standing 158 metres and has spectacular views of the country. You can see the Wicklow mountains to south of Dublin, east to Drogheda and the Irish Sea, north towards the Mourne Mountains, and southwest to the Hill of Tara.
