Join me and my little vintage minivan Noah as we explore the hidden gems and secret wonders of this beautiful county called Donegal. I am Collette and I have lived both here and in Scotland all of my life. It goes without saying therefore that I have a passion for the outdoors, nature and exploring. After travelling to many countries over the years there is always something magical about Donegal that makes it feel like home.

I want my guests to feel the amazing joy I feel when I tour around this beautiful part of Ireland. I have put together what I feel (and hope) is a tour of the REAL Donegal. Taking a tour with me and Noah (my little minivan) I can take you to the back roads and little gems that regular tours just can go. This is a personal tour and I want you to experience that with me. We will have lots of laughs and stops along the way. I want to hear about your travel stories as well as share my own.

Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Pass By: Maghery Glebe, Maghery, Co. Donegal, Ireland

Maghery look out tower was built in the Napoleonic era but the British to serve as a lookout post during the Napoleonic wars. This is the first of two of these towers on the tour.

Pass By: Crohy Head Sea Arch, Knockfola Ireland

These stunning sea arches are one of the most iconic in Donegal. They show the true wildness and harshness of the Atlantic Ocean.

Stop At: Meenacloghcor, Falcorrib, Co. Donegal, Ireland

Fagcorrib is a true gem on this tour allowing view across the neighbouring peninsula’s Here we will stop and take in view from all directions. Donegal true coastal wilderness.

Duration: 5 minutes

Stop At: Narin Beach, Narin-Portnoo Ireland

Nairn beach and church are our second stop of the tour. Here we will take in the staggering Blue flag beach of Nairn and well as the islands of Arranmore and more.

Duration: 5 minutes

Stop At: Rossbeg, Co. Donegal, Ireland

Rossbeg is our third stop of the tour and allows a short walk along this stunning beach. With one of Donegals smallest lobster ports and the towers sea cliffs of port and Glencolmcille in the distance this is a true hidden gem on this tour.

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Nancy’s Bar Front Street, Ardara Co.Donegal Ireland

You are in for a feast at one of Donegal’s oldest gastro pubs in the historic town of Ardara. Nancy’s has been in the same family for over 7 generations and has been said to have the best seafood chowder around. Step back in time in the many snugs, nooks and crannies of this fabulous little pub.

Pass By: Killybegs, Killybegs, County Donegal

Killybegs is Ireland’s largest fishing port. In it’s hay day it was a buzz of of excitement with boats lining the shores as far as the eye could see. Providing seafood across Ireland the UK, Europe and internationally.

Stop At: Muckross Head Peninsula, Muckross Off of Route 263, Kilcar Ireland

The area of Kilcar and Muckross, is a true step off the beaten track. This hidden headland drive is a highlight of this tour. Meandering the rugged coastline. There are outstanding views at every turn.

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Slieve League Cliffs Near Teelin, Carrick Ireland

The towering sea cliff of Slieve League need no introduction. The highest mainland cliffs in Ireland and the 5 highest in Europe. You can see why so many people folk to this majestic lookout each year.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Glengesh Pass, Glengesh, Ardara Ireland

The final leg of the tour takes us through the peaty bogland of Cove before defending down the corkscrew Vally of Glengesh. This Magnificent valley was created by the ancient Glaciers which have carved out this truly spectacular Vally.
