Join our local chefs, Sarah and John in the Howth Castle Cookery School as they take you through the preparation of our Irish Supper Club menu, you will roll up your sleeves and prepare a three course menu which you will later enjoy with a glass of wine.
You will also have a guided tour of Howth Castle the home of the Gaisford-St Lawrence family who have been in Howth since 1177. Our guide will take you through the stories of the family, the illustrious visitors and vagabonds who have stayed in the Castle.
You will be in small groups having the opportunity to meet fellow travelers and local people to enjoy exploring our Irish food, history and of course, a bit of craic.
Our Irish Supper Club class is based on the very best of local Irish produce. This class is focused on current Irish cooking with some classic European influences. As part of this 2 hour hands on class you’ll put together a shoulder of Wicklow lamb with a classic red wine reduction, a Clare Island organic salmon gravadlax and a little something sweet to finish.
Participants will also enjoy a guided tour of Howth Castle which is the home of the Gaisford-St Lawrence family who have been in Howth since 1177. The oldest parts of the Castle date from the 15th century and your guide will take you through the changes from the castellations in the 1730’s to the Sir Edwin Lutyens library from 1910.
