Your tour of Fota House will begin in our main hall. From here your volunteer guide will take you on the 45 minute tour of the Regency property. Our guides will show you the grand decor of the principle rooms and take you behind the scenes of the exquisite boudoir and charming Victorian nursery. A special feature is our service wing, where the original kitchen will allow you to experience what life was like for the cooks, butlers, footmen and all the maids who supported the lavish lifestyle of the gentry. Children’s tours are also available. They can be taken alongside the adult tour or on prearranged children tours.
Guided tours of the house are available on a daily basis from Spring to September and depart from the Welcome Desk at: 11am 12.30pm 2pm 3.30pm Children’s tours must be prearranged. Visitors can also visit the award winning Working Garden by phoning 021 4815543 We kindly ask that you arrive ten minutes before your chosen tour. The gardens are free so once you have completed the house tour take some time to enjoy the tranquil beauty of Fota’s gardens and stroll in the historic ‘pleasure grounds’ that continue to delight today. Experience the heavenly rose garden and explore the Arboretum where you will discover a host of rare and majestic trees. Our cafe in situated next to our Welcome Desk.
