    Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Connemara, Connemara, County Galway, Western Ireland

Without a doubt, the most exciting time of year for deer watching is early to mid-October when the red deer start their courting actions, during the short period of time known as the ‘rut’. Hormonally charged males put on an impressive show as they fight to build their harem of females, and if you’re lucky you might see two red stags locked in an antler to antler battle!  A pair of binoculars is a must and will be supplied.

Please arrive at the meeting point provided after booking at dawn, approx. 6am (times will vary throughout the year).

Then, start the wild deer viewing safari and drive through this privately owned wilderness area of scenic mountains, bogs, heaths, grasslands and woodlands and begin tracking of deer. Learn from your professional guide about the unique fauna and flora as well as the history and ecology of the area. You will also be served complimentary hot drinks and biscuits during the tour.

You will return back to the vehicle to finish the tour at approx. 9am.

    Duration: 3 hours

Pass By: Connemara National Park & Visitor Centre, Connemara National Park Connemara National Park Connemara, Co Galway Near the village of Letterfrack, Galway Ireland

Situated close to the deer viewing isConnemara National Park covers some 2,000 hectares of scenic mountains, expanses of bogs, heaths, grasslands and woodlands. Some of the Park’s mountains, namely Benbaun, Bencullagh, Benbrack and Muckanaght, are part of the famous Twelve Bens or Beanna Beola range. Connemara National Park was established and opened to the public in 1980.

Much of the present Park lands formed part of the Kylemore Abbey Estate and the Letterfrack Industrial School, the remainder having been owned by private individuals. The southern part of the Park was at one time owned by Richard (Humanity Dick) Martin who helped to form the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals during the early 19th century. The Park lands are now wholly owned by the State and managed solely for National Park purpose.
